December PIMPS At Mike Turner Photography

December meeting at Mike Turner Photography

December 8, 2009. 7:00pm
Mike Turner Photography
1130 Timber Grove Place
Beech Grove, IN 46107

Indiana has many of the best senior photographers in the entire country! How do you survive, and thrive in such a tough market when you don’t even have a commercial studio? … by providing the kind of personal service and unique images that the “big boys” simply can not provide. But you have to do it better than everyone else, and be a smart business person as well. We will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of running an in-home studio.

Weather permitting, we will also go downtown to do “night scapes” so bring a camera and a tripod.

Please RSVP in this thread.

    Mark Hoevel:

would love to do the night scape, as I missed the one in June. Sounds like it will be windy and rainy. Probably won’t make this one as I’ve got too many irons in the fire right now. Merry Christmas to all!

    Nichole Proctor:

    I hope to make it.

    Mike Turner:

I’m looking forward to seeing you guys tonight.

It looks like rain & heavy wind for tonight, so I think we will do the nights capes on a different night. I will still talk about the technique I use to do that tonight, and when I do that shoot later you can come along if you want.

As part of the discussion tonight, we will have a 2009 senior here to openly discuss pictures from a seniors point of view. You can ask all those “uncomfortable” questions that you can’t really ask a client like “perceived value” and “if kids can tell the difference between a good image and a crappy one.” All the photographers on the forums say they can’t tell the difference…. I’d like to know myself. :)

Ohhh yeah… don’t walk in the grass or you might step on a dog turd. I haven’t had a chance to clean up that crap. ;)

    Dale Baker:

Jimmy T and I plan on attending tonight…
